Welcome to The Saffron Resource Centre

Saffron Resource Centre (SRC) is a registered charity (no. 508230) established since 1975 for the benefit of the residents of the Saffron Lane Estate and environs.

Saffron Estate is recognised as one of the most deprived areas in the East Midlands, consisting of a large area of social housing facing a multitude of deprivation issues such as low income, unemployment, poor educational attainment, and ill health.

The Resource Centre exists to provide a wide range of support services for local residents such as elderly care, youth work, drugs, alcohol, health and pregnancy counselling, education, debt and benefits advice, an environmental project, as well as tenancy support and a mobility project. We work closely with a variety of statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure the interests of Saffron residents are represented at local, city-wide and regional level. Through this service provision, we aim to increase community capacity and provide best practice in a broad range of areas associated with youth and community work.

Whom we seek to help…

We will assist any resident from the Saffron Lane Estate, Eyres Monsell or Aylestone, either through direct support from our staff, or via referral to an appropriate agency if required.
