S.T.A.R Housing Support Workers are available to help with a wide range of issues that can include:

Jakin are a free and friendly confidential counselling service open to anyone in the community who is affected by pregnancy or pregnancy loss.
If you are struggling emotionally after pregnancy loss, abortion, miscarriage, or stillbirth, our long-term counsellors are specifically trained to know how to help and support you with person centred counselling on a one to one basis.
We will not tell you what you should do, but will give you balanced information on all the options.

Drugs & Alcohol Counselling
A fully qualified drug and alcohol counsellor is available at the Centre by appointment, to offer one to one support for individuals with misuse issues, or to support family and friends who want to know more about how they can help.
We provide a selection of information and materials on drugs misuse for clients to take away, as well as Auricular Acupuncture as part of a co-ordinated treatment programme. We also have links with Leicester DAAT (Drug and Alcohol Action Teams) and are able to refer clients requiring specialist treatment.
A Stop Smoking Adviser is available at the Saffon Resource Centre offering a free and confidential service to help local residents fight nicotine addiction.
For a lot of people, becoming a non-smoker can be a life-changing and sometimes scary decision, and that’s why having local, on-going support can be so important.
